Amélie joined the team to ensure sustainability for the next generation of wealthy entrepreneurs and their families. After completing her bachelor's degree in finance, her CFA Level 1, and her life insurance license, Amélie developed her expertise at Procter & Gamble before joining the team at Services Financiers Cloutier et associés. Amélie is currently enrolled in the CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) program to deepen her knowledge of life insurance taxation in estate planning. Working collaboratively with the team, Amélie employs a dynamic approach to better understand the needs of the next generation during the business transition.

Chris Ireland, CPA, CA, TEP

Chris joined PPI in 2003 after more than 20 years of experience in tax, estate and trust planning including several years as a Tax Partner in the Vancouver office of an international accounting firm. Chris has taught the CICA specialized tax course, “Advanced Tax Issues for the Owner Managed Business” and has written extensively in the area of tax planning and wealth preservation. Chris is a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU), the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF) and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), and is a frequent speaker at tax and professional industry meetings. Chris is the chair of STEP Canada.

Diane Everett, LL.B, CLU, TEP, FEA

Diane joined PPI in 2000 and has over 30 years of experience in taxation, corporate reorganizations and life insurance tax and estate planning. Diane has spoken extensively at conferences and authored numerous articles for industry organizations.
Diane is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, Law Society of British Columbia, Canadian Bar Association, Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF), Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF), Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU), Advocis, International Fiscal Association, Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is a designated Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA).

Andrée Couture, BAA, CLU, Pl. Fin., FLMI, FEA
Regional Vice-President, Advanced Sales – Quebec, PPI Advisory
Andrée joined PPI in 1988 and has moved steadily through the ranks, becoming a senior member of the PPI Advisory Sales Team. She manages key Advisor relationships offering tailored and advanced sales support on complex cases with innovative tools to help Advisors succeed. Fluently bilingual, Andrée has presented topics on tax, estate and financial planning with life insurance at PPI seminars, industry events and professional meetings. She obtained her CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation and also holds Financial Planner (Pl. Fin.), FLMI (Fellow Life Management Institute) and Family Enterprise Advisor (FEA) designations. She is also a member of CALU (Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting). Andrée has sat on the board of Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) and served as President of the board from 2016 to 2017.

Roméo Vitagliano, FALU, FLMI, ACS

Roméo joined PPI in 2007 with over 20 years of experience, specializing in impaired risk selection, large case underwriting and claims adjudication. Roméo works closely with Advisors, carriers, reinsurers and other partners. His industry designations include Fellow of the Academy of Life Underwriting (FALU), Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI) and Associate Customer Services (ACS). Roméo has served at the executive level of the Home Life Underwriters Association (HOLUA) and l'Association Québecoise des Tarificateurs-Vie (AQTV). He is an active member of the Association of Home Office Underwriters (AHOU) and the Canadian Institute of Underwriters (CIU) and continues to publish underwriting related articles and speak at industry forums.

Melanie Zimmerman, CPA, CA, BBA, TEP

Previous to joining PPI Advisory in 2005, Melanie worked for over 15 years in the Vancouver office of an international accounting firm specializing in tax planning for estates and trusts, individuals, charities and private businesses. Melanie’s role includes maintaining and updating PPI’s extensive library of tax and estate planning educational material, including the Advisor’s Guide to Life Insurance Taxation, which provides up-to-date and in-depth information for PPI Advisory’s Advisors involved in advanced planning. Melanie also provides Advisor educational sessions, presentations at industry events and consulting with her PPI Advisory colleagues on tax issues pertaining to the complex planning needs of our Advisors’ clients. Melanie is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF) and Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Serge Bilodeau, CPA, FCPA

Serge joined PPI after retiring from KPMG as a tax partner of over 30 years. He has advised large Canadian and international companies as well as advised business transfers to new generations for large Quebec families. Serge has considerable experience managing relations with tax authorities including the Department of Finance and he has acted as an expert witness in legal proceedings. He has published tax-related articles with several organizations including Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF) and Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF) and given many tax presentations. During his career, he was a member of the Joint Committee on Taxation, the Board of Directors of the CTF and the Board of Directors of the APFF. Today, Serge serves on boards of directors and committees of large Quebec business families.
